Urology Program Directors Update: Introduction and Update for Surgical Accreditation Webcast (2016)
Program Directors need formal education and guidance with their duties as leaders, managers and organizers of resident education. The Next Accreditation System is creating a lot of changes which have created many questions regarding new processes and policies. It would be ideal if the Program Directors had a way of standardizing how to best implement the new changes to urology education. Program Coordinators/Administrators will need to understand the various changes and assist the Program Director in realizing the important educational tools that need to be instituted in their unique clinical learning environment.
There are new changes to the curriculum development, evaluation and assessment process for residents in urology. Program Directors need to know about how to implement the new changes using practical, thoughtful models. Program Coordinators/Administrators are essential to understanding the new concepts and designing new practical and meaningful solutions for the new policies and concepts.

- Build new partnerships to enhance the educational program
- Integrate and implement the Next Accreditation System into all aspects of the residency program
- Evaluate resident remediation scenarios regarding professional misconduct, academic concerns and behavioral issues
- Assess the program's areas for improvement for an ACGME Self-Study and Site Visit
- Engage faculty in the new system of evaluation: CCC and PEC
- Determine ways to evaluate resident wellness and solutions for resiliency
- Implement new tools to enhance teaching effectiveness

The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The American Urological Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 12.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
