American Society for Men's Health (ASMH)

The American Society for Men’s Health (ASMH) was founded in 2012 and is dedicated to the rapidly growing field of men’s health. The ASMH comprehensively brings together multiple disciplines such as urology, family medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, gerontology, psychiatry, psychology, sexual and reproductive medicine, public health and others.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this meeting will be urologists and primary care clinicians, however the content being presented would be of interest to many specialties including cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, gerontology, psychiatry, psychology, sexual and reproductive medicine and public health.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this online activity, participants should be able to:
1. Explain the controversies of prostate cancer PSA screening from both urology and primary care perspectives.
2. Review AUA guideline amendment for castrate resistant prostate cancer.
3. Assess the outcomes and selection of treatment options for prostate cancer.
4. Interpret options for caring for men with side effects from prostate cancer treatment.
5. Review the controversies surrounding the treatment of men with late onset hypogonadism.
6. Examine the relationship between metabolic parameters composing metabolic syndrome and testosterone deficiency.
7. Determine if testosterone repletion reverses metabolic dysfunction (eg insulin resistance).
8. Summarize what the current longitudinal and RCTs suggest regarding the relationship between testosterone use and cardiovascular endpoints: MI and CVA.
