Male Sexual Dysfunction for APPs (2017)

Member only benefit! In this era of increasing responsibility for primary care physicians and primary mid-level providers, it is important to recognize male sexual dysfunction may be mitigated due to advance lifestyle changes and risk factors need to be addressed and altered. Many APN/PAs also do not know what tests are appropriate for the work-up of male sexual dysfunction. Basic knowledge and understanding of male sexual dysfunction and its reflection of underlying health issues for the patient is needed.

This activity is designed to provide participants with a basic knowledge of how to perform a comprehensive work-up of male sexual dysfunction and outline treatment options and choices for the patient.

Learning Objectives

After attending this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Evaluate the male patient with sexual dysfunction with appropriate history, physical examination and pertinent laboratory investigations.
  2. Refer for cardiac evaluation if no risk factors present.
  3. Discuss and determine appropriate treatment options with the patient.
  4. Explain a comprehensive knowledge of all potential treatment options for male sexual dysfunction including risks and complications.
