Cristiano Gomes, MD, PHD
Dr. Cristiano M. Gomes is an internationally recognized expert in the field of functional urology, including male and female urinary incontinence, neuro-urology, reconstructive urology, female pelvic medicine, prostate diseases and also male and female sexual dysfunction. Dr. Gomes is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Sao Paulo. He completed his residence in urology at the University of Sao Paulo and a Fellowship in Urology (Voiding Dysfunction) at the University of Pennsylvania and he is board certified in Urology and Reconstructive Urology. His particular areas of interest include both male and female voiding symptoms and urinary incontinence, reconstructive urology, neurogenic bladder, prostate diseases, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Gomes specializes in both surgical and non- surgical options for treatment of various urological conditions. He also serves as a consultant at the Lucy Montoro Center, an internationally respected facility focusing on the care of patients with spinal cord injury and other neurologic diseases. He is presently Chief of the Department of Functional Urology and Female Urology of the Brazilian Society of Urology and an Associate Editor of the International Brazilian Journal of Urology. He has lectured throughout the world and has published numerous articles within his field of expertise and review articles for multiple journals, including the Journal of Urology, Neurourology and Urodynamics and the International Brazilian Journal of Urology.
