Life Long Learning Knowledge Assessment Course: Urodynamic Evaluation & Advances in Management of Neurogenic Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction in Adults: A Case-Based Approach Webcast 037IC (2018)
This comprehenisve and very practical course on adult neurogenic bladder dysfunction is designed for Urology residents, fellows, practicing urologists, and allied health professionals (e.g., nurses and physical therapists) with special interest in Neuro-Urology. Topics covered will include urodynamic evaluation of patients with various neurogenic bladder conditions and an up-to-date review of non-pharmacological, pharmacological, minimally invasive, and reconstructive surgical treatment options. The presentations will be corroborated and supplemented by real clinical cases of the course faculty, providing a unique case based approach to the evaluation and management. Exceptionally clear and instructional urodynamic illustrations of common neurogenic lower urinary tract conditions (CVA, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, spinal cord injury, myelodysplasia, spinal cord tumors, herniated intervertebral disk, peripheral nerve injury, cauda equina syndrome, conus medullaris syndrome, among others) will be included along with contemporary advances in the management as practiced in 2016-2017 in the light of recent guidelines in the management of adult neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction. At the end of the course, participants will become confident and proficient in the urodynamic evaluation and contemporary management of common neurogenic lower urinary tract conditions.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Employ the physics behind each of the modalities of multi-parametric ultrasound.
- Identify the potential advantages and limitations of each of the modalities of multi-parametric ultrasound.
- Deploy the technology to improve the diagnosis of prostate cancer in appropriately selected populations of patients.
- Outline the additional resources and expertise necessary to use the modalities of multi-parametric ultrasound.
- Compare the efficacy of multiparametric ultrasound to that of multiparametric MRI.
