Las Vegas Regional Coding Seminar (2018)
CPT and ICD-10-CM codes have been updated and physicians and the staff of the urology practices do not have the knowledge to accurately apply correct codes for diseases, signs, and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances, and external causes of injury or disease.
Physician and staff in urology practices need training to understand and apply the CPT and ICD-10-CM codes to ensure procedures are properly coded for accurate billing. (Current Procedural Terminology(CPT)) - the most widely accepted medical nomenclature used to report medical procedures and services under public and private health insurance programs.

1. Describe areas where they can promote effective services in their practice

1. Identify urology sections in coding books
2. Outline all coding resources for best practice
Friday Surgical Coding Challenges:
1. Ensure adherence to surgical guidelines
2. Code complex and multiple urologic procedures
Saturday General Session:
1. List the coding changes effecting urology in 2018
2. List the changes to Medicare for 2018
3. Describe the proper use of tools for prior authorization
4. List the changes to MACRA, MIPS & APM for 2018
5. Determine proper steps to take to negotiate contracts
6. Apply the appropriate level of evaluation and management services
7. Describe proper modifiers to use in everyday practice
8. Discuss surgical procedures done by providers and how to properly code each.

Accreditation: The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation: The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 14.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
