Welcome to CUC Review Article Program with CME Credit

This activity will provide 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM per article with a passing rate of 80%. The total number of CME credit available for Activity #1 is 8 hours. CME will only be available through October 31, 2023

You will only have one chance to take each assessment. The results of each assessment, pass or fail, will be shared with the ABU as part of the CUC Program.

Each article will have a $15 fee for AUA members and $25 fee for non-members for a total cost of $120 member/$200 non-member.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Each Diplomate will be required to complete eight articles.
  2. Each article will have five assessment questions and the passing rate is 80%.
  3. Within the activity, the Diplomate will have access to all 35 articles, but will be required to only choose eight of them to complete an assessment.
  4. Diplomates will have until October 31, 2023 to complete the activity. 

For the pilot program, there are 35 articles available. The chart below shows the breakdown of articles.

INSTRUCTIONS

There are TWO sections within this activity:

  1. Guidelines & Core Urology
  2. Content Specific Modules

The Diplomate will select FOUR articles under each section. To select an article:

  1. Navigate to the Register tab located above.
  2. Click on the title of the article to review.
  3. From the article homepage, click on the Register tab.
  4. Click the Add to Cart button.
  5. From the shopping cart, you may checkout immediately OR continue shopping to add additional articles.

Once the article has been purchased, it will automatically appear under the My Activities tab. To access the article:

  1. Navigate to the My Activities tab of the AUAUniversity homepage.
  2. Under Pending Activities, you will see the name of the article purchased.
  3. Select the article.
  4. Click on the blue Take Couse button in the Course Summary box.
    1. Alternatively, click on the Take Course tab and click on the blue Take Course button
  5. From there, you will follow the course outline to read the article, complete the assessment and course evaluation, and claim CME.

NOTES

  1. The Diplomate may only attempt each assessment one time. The AUA will not re-set the assessment if the 80% passing rate is not met.
  2. Diplomates will have until October 31, 2023 to complete activity. CME will not be awarded after October 31, 2023.

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION:

Participants will select 4 from this section. Each article is designated for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. To earn credit, participants must read the educational material provided for each article, pass its corresponding online posttest with at least 80% accuracy, submit the online evaluation and claim CME.

ACCREDITATION:

The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION:

The American Urological Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

OTHER LEARNERS:

The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

EVIDENCE BASED CONTENT:

 It is the policy of the AUA to ensure that the content contained in this CME enduring material activity is valid, fair, balanced, scientifically rigorous, and free of commercial bias.

AUA DISCLOSURE POLICY: 

All persons in a position to control the content of an educational activity (i.e., activity planners, presenters, authors) are required to disclose to the provider all financial relationships with any commercial interest during the previous 24 months. The AUA must determine if the individual’s relationships may influence the educational content and mitigate any conflicts of interest prior to the commencement of the educational activity. MITIGATION OF IDENTIFIED CONFLICT OF INTEREST:

The AUA COI Review Work Group, working with Office of Education satff, will document the mechanism(s) for management and mitigation of the conflict of interest and final approval of the activity will be documented prior to implementation.  Any of the mechanisms below can/will be used to mitigate conflict of interest:

  • Peer review for valid, evidence-based content by the AUA COI Review Work Group.
  • Attestation that clinical recommendations are evidence-based and free of commercial bias.
  • Introduction of a debate format (point-counterpoint)
  • Inclusion of moderated panel discussion with unbiased moderator
  • Publication of a parallel or rebuttal article for an article that is felt to be biased
  • Divestiture of the relationship by faculty
  • Recusal from controlling relevant aspects of planning
  • Selection of alternative faculty for specific topic
