Basic Urologic Ultrasound (2022)
The use of ultrasound is fundamental to the practice of urology. Urologists use ultrasound daily in the office and in the surgical setting to diagnose urologic disease and to guide treatment. In order for urologists to achieve the best possible outcomes from this technology they must have a thorough understanding of the physical principles of ultrasound, the principles of image generation and the common artifacts associated with ultrasound. By viewing this online video, urologists will become acquainted with the effects of technique and machine adjustments on image quality. Documentation of an ultrasound procedure using accepted conventions for orientation, content and nomenclature will be demonstrated. Patient safety implications of the bioeffects of ultrasound will be emphasized. This online video is the foundation for urologic ultrasound education.
The Basic Urologic Ultrasound 2011 online video covers the physical principles of ultrasound, technique, machine settings, documentation and safety of urologic ultrasound. Emphasis on the physics of ultrasound, patient safety considerations and the limitations and advantages of ultrasound are some of the topics that will be addressed.
Target Audience
- Urologists
- Urology Residents
