Manoj Monga, MD, FACS, FRCS
Dr. Manoj Monga is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Urology at the University of California San Diego. From 2010-2020 he served as the Director of the Stevan Streem Center for Endourology and Stone Disease at the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, he was the Joseph Sorkness Professor and Vice Chair of Urologic Surgery and Director of Endourology & Stone Disease at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Monga received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is recognized as an international authority in endourology and stone disease, and has acted as a visiting professor at many of the major medical centers in the United States. In 2007, Dr. Monga was awarded the Endourology Society "Arthur Smith Young Innovators' Award," and has more than 400 peer-reviewed publications. His research has focused on the evaluation and design of medical devices related to endourology. He was awarded the "Ralph Clayman Mentor Award" in 2018.
Dr. Monga currently serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons. He is an elected member of the AAGUS. Dr. Monga has served on numerous AUA committees, including the Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Committee, Abstract Committee, and Urology Care Foundation's Outreach Committee, and served as chair of the North Central Section's Education Committee. In addition, Dr. Monga served as the treasurer of the Ohio Urological Society and a member of the American Board of Urology Exam Committee, and is past-president of both the Minnesota Urological Society and the Engineering & Urology Society. Dr. Monga has served as the section editor of the Journal of Endourology and served on several other editorial boards, including the Indian Journal of Urology and the International Brazilian Journal of Urology. Dr. Monga has been a member of the AUA since 1997 and served as the Secretary of the AUA from 2015-2019.
