Prostate Cancer Update (2024): Expert Guidance for APPs

COMPLIMENTARY CME LIVE VIRTUAL COURSE!


Based on the documented need from the AUA Advanced Prostate Cancer Global Needs Assessment, the AUA is providing additional education to update APPs on the latest advancements in the management of hormone sensitive prostate cancer (HSPC), including treatment intensification. 

Prostate Cancer Update 2024: Expert Guidance for APPs will consist of a live webinar, designed specifically for APPs. The live virtual course will feature a multidisciplinary panel engaging in a lively discussion on this topic. This activity will be released in September 2024 in conjunction with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The live virtual course will be captured and posted on AUAUniversity, and the AUAUniversity YouTube channel for on-demand viewing for up to one year.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will:

  1. Interpret the latest guidelines for prostate cancer screening, including risk factors and early detection strategies.
  2. Evaluate recent advancements in diagnostic tools and techniques for prostate cancer, including imaging modalities and biopsy methods.
  3. Recognize appropriate use of biomarker testing as it relates to diagnosis and therapy.
  4. Analyze the latest strategies for managing advanced and metastatic prostate cancer, including systemic therapies and multidisciplinary care approaches.
  5. Identify approaches to address quality of life issues and survivorship care for patients with prostate cancer, including management of side effects and psychosocial support.

ACCREDITATION: 

The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION: 

The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

OTHER LEARNERS: 

The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
