      Learning Objectives

      At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will:

      1. List the common insurance denials and how to prevent them.
      2. Recognize the importance of accurate reporting of ICD-10-CM codes.
      3. Discuss proper coding of HCPCS G2211 and CPT 99459.
      4. Formulate practical applications of the coding information presented and for utilization in everyday practice.
      5. Identify appropriate modifiers to code and bill for proper reimbursement.
      6. Describe reimbursement rules for proper use of modifiers in everyday practice.
      7. Identify how the 2021 outpatient E/M Guidelines differ from the 1995/1997 guidelines.
      8. Describe documentation requirements for updated guidelines.
      9. Recognize how outpatient consultation and hospital visits were updated in 2023.
      10. Define appropriate use of virtual, telephone and online portal E/M services.
      11. Identify correct coding and billing for Advanced Practice Providers to receive proper reimbursement.

      ACCREDITATION:

      The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

      CREDIT DESIGNATION:

      The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

      OTHER LEARNERS:

      The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

      EVIDENCE BASED CONTENT:

      Cancellation Policy

      Live Course: An administrative fee of 15% is assessed if registration is cancelled up to six weeks prior to the course. If registration is cancelled four to six weeks from the course, the cancellation fee is 50% of the registration fee paid. No registration fees will be refunded less than four weeks prior to the course. 

      Webcast: Cancellations must be made no later than one week prior to the live course. Subscription fees will not be refunded after the cancellation period. Purchases after the live course date are not eligible for a refund. 

      Registration Transfer: Customers switching from an option of lesser value to a higher value will be required to pay the difference in cost between the two options. Switching to an option of lesser value from a higher value must be made no later than to six weeks prior to the course and will be subject to an administrative fee of 15% of the cost of the course from which they are transferring. Transfer of registration from a higher value option to an option of lesser value past six weeks prior to the course will not receive a refund.
