Jay D. Raman, MD, FACS, FRCS(Glasg) is Professor and Chair of the Department of Urology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and graduated AOA from Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Raman completed his Urology Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell Medical Center followed by a Fellowship in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Raman's clinical practice focuses on robotic-assisted surgery for upper and lower tract urologic cancers, having completed over 2,500 cases. His clinical research centers on quality of care for prostate cancer patients, novel treatments for upper-tract urothelial carcinoma, biomarkers for urinary tract cancers, prostate biopsy infections, as well as complications of urologic surgery. To date, he has co-authored over 400 manuscripts, book chapters, and editorials and serves on the editorial board for three journals and as a reviewer for 12 journals.

Dr. Raman is currently Chair of the American Urologic Association (AUA) Office of Education and Past-President of the Mid-Atlantic AUA section. He currently serves as on the Urology Advisory Council for the American College of Surgeons.
