Dr. Leslie Deane is Professor and Chief of the Division of Urology at Howard University in Washington, DC. He is the R. Frank Jones Endowed Professor of Surgery. Dr. Deane is a minimally invasive robotic surgeon and endourologist and practices at Howard University Hospital.

Dr. Deane is a graduate of the University of the West Indies School of Clinical Medicine and Research. He went on to pursue training in Urological surgery at the University of Toronto and its prestigious affiliated teaching hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. 

Dr. Deane is subspecialty trained in Laparoscopy, Endourology and Robotic Urologic Surgery, having completed a clinical and research fellowship with Dr. Ralph Clayman, Dr. Elspeth McDougall and Dr. Thomas Ahlering at the University of California Irvine and UC Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Deane specializes in the minimally invasive management of urologic malignancies including cancers of the prostate, bladder and ureter has extensive experience in robotic surgery for these conditions. Dr. Deane has amassed significant experience in robotic ureteral reconstruction for patients with benign or malignant conditions of the ureter. He also treats complex kidney stone disease.

Dr. Deane has published over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.
