Dr Philippe Spiess is presently a senior member in the department of Genitourinary Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and  professor in the department of urology at the University of South Florida. He completed his urology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and then a 3-year urologic oncology fellowship at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. Dr Spiess has published over 350 peer reviewed manuscripts and has edited 6 textbooks in urologic oncology. Dr Spiess currently serves as the vice-chair of the NCCN panel on bladder and penile cancer and is on the editorial board of several national and international peer reviewed journal such as Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations, International Brazilian Journal of Urology, and BMC Urology.
