Eugene Rhee, MD, MBA
Dr. Rhee is the Regional Coordinating Chief of Urology for Kaiser Permanente (KP) in Southern California and the National Chair of Urology for the Permanente Federation, responsible for empowering urologic care for 12.2M lives within the largest nonprofit, managed healthcare organization in the United States. He also serves as Area Assistant Medical Director for the Business Line & Finance for KP in San Diego.
Dr Rhee serves as Chair of the Public Policy Council for the American Urologic Association (AUA). He was the 2013-2014 AUA Gallagher Health Policy Scholar. He is a past president of the California Urological Association and the San Diego Urologic Society. He served as the inaugural Section Editor for Health Policy for Urology Practice and as the inaugural CoChair of the AUA Telehealth Task Force introducing the role of telemedicine in urologic care. He serves as Chair of the Western Section AUA Health Policy Committee. He sat on the AUA Legislative Affairs Committee, the AUA State Advocacy Committee, the AUA Electronic Health Records Workgroup, and the AUA Work Force Workgroup. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Clinical Urologists (AACU) as the Western Section Representative.
Dr. Rhee’s interests lie in the field of incontinence, urologic reconstruction & sexual medicine, and minimally invasive techniques for BPH. Dr. Rhee earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his residency at the Kaiser Permanente Foundation Hospitals in Los Angeles, California. He received both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Emory University. He received his MBA from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA in 2008 and is a graduate of the 2010-2011 AUA Leadership Class.
