Stephanie Storck, CPC
Beginning her healthcare career in a four-physician urologist practice in Annapolis, Maryland, Stephanie N. Stinchcomb has over twenty years’ experience in coding urologic procedures and services. She is nationally certified as a Certified Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and as a Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based through American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She also holds an AHIMA ICD-10-CM Trainer certification that enables her to train individuals in the proper use of ICD-10-CM coding.
Currently, Stephanie is employed by the American Urological Association as the Director of Reimbursement and Regulation and has been with the AUA for almost seventeen years. She oversees the Reimbursement and Regulation Department working with the American Medical Association in the creation of CPT procedure and services codes and the National Center for Health Statistics in the creation of ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes as they relate to urology, as well as ICD-10-CM and with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on deciphering government regulatory proposals and analyzing the affect upon urology and medicine in general. Stephanie has served as technical consultant for issues presented on Capitol Hill. She also works with public and private insurers on policy and reimbursement issues. Previously she held the positions at the AUA of Senior Manager of Reimbursement and Regulation, Manager of Reimbursement, and Coding and Reimbursement Coordinator where she managed the AUA National Coding Hotline for many years.
She has served as faculty on the AUA’s annual coding seminars held throughout the United States, Coding Updates at the AUA Annual Meeting and contributing writer to the AUA’s Policy and Advocacy Brief on coding and reimbursement issues. She has served as faculty on a number of urology symposiums as well as the AAPC Annual Convention.
