Adele Caruso, DNP,FAANP,CRNP
Adele Marie Caruso, DNP, CRNP, FAANP is an Advanced Practice Provider at the University of Pennsylvania in the Urology Division, with a special interest in Urologic Oncology. Her clinical practice focus is with renal, bladder, prostate and testis cancers, and involves managing this special patient population within a large tertiary practice. She received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and did her graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University and was recently inducted as a Fellow of the national American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), reserved for those making a global impact upon advancing the NP role.
Dr. Caruso is an author for the genitourinary chapter on bladder cancer published by the Society for Urologic Nurses (SUNA), SUNA Core Curriculum for Urologic Nursing, 1/2017 and multiple other publications. Additionally, she represents an advanced practice voice on urology topics as an author for the Urology Times. She lectures regularly on the topic of GU cancer and Advance Practice Provider legislative issues.
Dr. Caruso is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Mid Atlantic Section of the AUA (MAAUA), and International Continence Society (ICS).
She is Immediate Past President of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (PCNP), an organization which promotes and protects the professional practice, and shapes health policy for more than 17, 100 NP’s in the State of Pennsylvania. She is acknowledged for her pivitol contributions for the advancement of Full Practice Authority in the State of Pennsylvania. She is working tirelessly on this initiative and others to help remove barriers to NP practice, advance the NP profession and improve access to quality healthcare.
