Badrinath Konety, MD
Badrinath R. Konety, MD, MBA, is President, Allina Health Cancer Institute, Minneapolis, MN and Professor of Urology at Rush Medical College. He recently served as the Henry P Russe Dean of the Rush Medical College, Rush University and Senior Vice President for Clinical Affairs, Rush System for Health. Badrinath Konety, MD completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Following his residency training, Dr. Konety was an AFUD Research Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Urology and Cancer Institute, concurrently studying business and receiving a MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business. Dr. Konety completed his medical education at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as Chief Clinical Fellow. He was previously Chair, Dept of Urology at the University of Minnesota and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, University of Minnesota as well as CEO of University of Minnesota Physicians. He has authored or co-authored over 300 original publications and numerous book chapters and been principal or co-investigator on grants funded through the Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, American Geriatrics Society and Center for Disease Control. He received the Jahnigen Career Development Scholar Award, and is an active member of numerous professional medical societies including the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons, Societe Internationale D’Urologie and the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He has been Past President of the SIU and Society of Academic Urology and has served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Urology.
