Masato Fujisawa, MD, PhD
Masato Fujisawa, MD, PhD, graduated from Kobe University School of Medicine in 1984 and obtained medical degree. He then graduated from the Department of Urology, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine in 1989, obtained the degree of PhD.
After his residency in Urology at Kobe University Hospital and position as assistant professor at Kobe University School of Medicine, he worked for the Department of Urology, Kawasaki Medical School as Professor from 2002 to 2005.
From 2005 to present, he is the professor and chairman of the Division of Urology, Department of Organs Therapeutics, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine.
From 2007 to present, he is also the professor and chairman of the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery Related, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine. In addition, from 2014, he is the director of Kobe University Hospital.
From 2015, Prof. Fujisawa is the President of Japanese Urological association. From 2018, he is the President of Society of Andrology and the Executive Adviser to the President, Kobe University.
He has been focusing on endourology, especially robotic surgery, Urooncology, Andrology, Renal transplantation.
So far he has published more than 500 peer-reviewed articles to the international scientific journals and urological communities. He has been executing clinical trials of robotic partial nephrectomy especially for hilar tumor in Japan.
Also, his team has been collaborating with Medicaroid to make a new surgical robot in Japan.
