V10-11: Robotic Ureterocalicostomy in Horseshoe Kidney
Video
INTRODUCTION
We present a case of complex UPJO in a malrotated horsehoe kidney treated by 2 repairs in early life and additional balloon dilations until the age of 4.
METHODS
The patient presented with symptoms of severe Dietl's crisis. Given multiple previous repairs, UPJ reconstruction was not considered feasible and we proceeded with robotic ureterocalicostomy.
RESULTS
Robotic-assisted ureterocalicostomy was done with excellent post-operative results. The patient is no asymptomatic with a patent anastamosis.
CONCLUSION
Robotic-assisted ureterocalicostomy is an excellent alternative to UPJ reconstruction or open ureterocalicostomy.
