V871: ROBOTIC HEMI-NEPHRO-URETECTOMY FOR NON-FUNCTIONAL UPPER POLE IN DUPLICATED COLLECTING SYSTEM

Video

Introduction and Objectives
Objective: A number of applications of the robotic platform have been explored from oncological treatment to complex reconstructions. Herein, we demonstrate our technical approach using the robotic system for a non-functional upper pole in a duplicated collecting system

Methods
Materials and Methods: A 24 year old female with multiple episodes of pyelonephritis in a duplicated right collecting system with an ectopic ureter from the vagina to the upper pole moiety hydronephrosis. Patient underwent a robotic right nephro-ureterectomy with a robot docked at level of the 12th rib at a 90 degree angle. No repositioning was needed to complete the case.

Results
Results: Operative time was 180 min. Estimated blood loss was 150 mL. There was no change between pre and post-operative eGFR. There were no intra-operative complications. Patient was discharged home and post-operative day 3

Conclusions
Conclusion: Robotic Nephro-ureterectomy is a technically feasible treatment option for duplicated collecting systems with non-functional upper pole.
