This podcast episode aims to address the educational gaps surrounding complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs). The ability for urologic practitioners to diagnose, treat, and manage UTIs has evolved due to additional insights into the pathophysiology of complicated UTIs. There is a need to provide education on the adverse effects of antimicrobial therapy, rising rates of bacterial antimicrobial resistance, and the most effective treatment options for complicated UTIs. Treatment options, including the most current and safe antibiotic regimens, will be discussed.
