Join us for a powerful two days of educational and trending policy sessions with an opportunity for the urologic community to come together to make their voices heard on Capitol Hill. This event is open to all domestic AUA members and provides a unique opportunity to engage with lawmakers, raise awareness on critical urologic policy issues and drive meaningful change for urologists, practices and patients. Whether you’re a urologist, patient, researcher or advocate, your participation is vital to shaping the future of urologic care. Be part of the movement and help us push for policies that matter. Learning Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants will be able to:
- Analyze the scope of drug shortages in urology and determine what federal bills exist to address these shortages in America.
- Advocate on improving the drug shortage problem with policymakers in Congress.
- Describe the significant policy changes CMS implemented in the CY 2025 PFS final rule and the policy changes outlined in the CAA of 2023.
- Convey advocacy issues to legislators in an effort to develop permanent fixes to the Medicare payment system.
- Evaluate the key objectives and intended impact of the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act.
- Analyze the main critiques of the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act, including cost concerns, administrative burden, and implementation challenges.
- Strategize to implement prior authorization reforms and balancing efficiency with quality patient care.
- Assess the degree of unhealthy coping mechanisms and utilization of professional help in the face of burnout or stress.
- Recommend potential institutional, state, or national level policies to make professional mental health services more readily available for urologists in the face of burnout or stress.
- Demonstrate the threat that burnout and stress have on the health of the urologic workforce.
- Evaluate the justification for the federal government's warning against low-dose estrogen.
- Identify data to counter the federal government’s justification for using a black box warning on low-dose estrogen
- Explain the growing trend of Al in urologic care.
- Determine ways Al can improve health urologic outcomes, including disparities.
- Identify any federal/state legislation or regulations that impact Al in healthcare.
- Engage in advocacy activities in their home states.
- Recruit like-minded colleagues locally to engage in advocacy activities at the state level.
- Take practical, actionable steps to accelerate advocacy engagement at the state level.
- Analyze the challenges associated with national payment models in improving urologic care.
- Evaluate the current efforts to improve alternative payment models in prostate cancer care.
- Identify ways for urologists to provide input in alternative payment model development.
- Analyze the scientific evidence linking burn pit exposures to bladder cancer.
- Appraise the epidemiological challenges associated with recognizing bladder cancer as a presumptive condition, including latency periods and under-diagnosis in younger veterans.
- Assist veterans diagnosed with bladder cancer by informing them of the recent amendment to the PACT Act, ensuring they are aware of their eligibility for presumptive coverage and VA benefits.

AUA ACCREDITATION INFORMATION
Accreditation: The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation: The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Other Learners: The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Evidence Based Content: It is the policy of the AUA to ensure that the content contained in this CME activity is valid, fair, balanced, scientifically rigorous, and free of commercial bias.
