This hands-on, intensive skills training is for the practicing urologist who wants to gain comfort with percutaneous stone removal, obtaining one's own percutaneous access using both fluoroscopy and ultrasound, and the use of current instrumentation including flexible ureteroscopy.  The course will include didactic lectures, a variety of surgical simulators, and live patient experience with ultrasound imaging.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  1. Obtain percutaneous access to the kidney using both fluoroscopy and sonography.
  2. Review instrumentation integral to optimizing PCNL success (including tract dilation, graspers, baskets, and flexible nephroscopy).
  3. Demonstrate the optimal methods for post-operative drainage and management of the percutaneous tract.
  4. Recognize and manage complications of PCNL.
  5. Perform and review ultrasound imaging.
  6. Offer PCNL to its patients as an integral surgical procedure in the treatment of stone disease.  
  7. Utilize flexible ureteroscopy and instrumentation in combination with PCNL to enhance access and stone treatment success.

The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION: 

The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

OTHER LEARNERS:

Cancellation Policy

Live Course: An administrative fee of 15% is assessed if registration is cancelled up to six weeks prior to the course. If registration is cancelled four to six weeks from the course, the cancellation fee is 50% of the registration fee paid. No registration fees will be refunded less than four weeks prior to the course.

 Webcast: Cancellations must be made no later than one week prior to the live course. Subscription fees will not be refunded after the cancellation period. Purchases after the live course date are not eligible for a refund.

 Registration Transfer: Customers switching from an option of lesser value to a higher value will be required to pay the difference in cost between the two options. Switching to an option of lesser value from a higher value must be made no later than to six weeks prior to the course and will be subject to an administrative fee of 15% of the cost of the course from which they are transferring. Transfer of registration from a higher value option to an option of lesser value past six weeks prior to the course will not receive a refund.
